Asphalt can be patched sealed and resurfaced. In doing so, you can prolong the life of your asphalt for years and years. Patching is performed when either one of the following situations happens:
- Cracks were not sealed, and water was allowed to penetrate and freeze.
- Poor construction causes soft spots in the asphalt and it subgrades.

Proper patching requires saw cutting around the hole in the asphalt. Usually straight square saw cuts around the patch is best. The debris is then removed, and new asphalt is placed and compacted. Saw cutting makes for a cleaner, smoother edge for patches.
Overlays are nice refreshments to older asphalt. With the versatility of asphalt, you can save a worn parking lot or driveway by preforming an overlay which is a 2 to 3″ new surface that is a third to half of the cost of complete removal and replacement.
